STUDIO is located on the first floor of the iconic Art Deco building, The Standard, beautifully located on the quay of Copenhagen's Inner Harbor. We are one of the smallest Michelin restaurants in Denmark and everyday we strive to create unique food experiences with great presence.

An adventurous tradition

At STUDIO, curiosity runs in our veins. We live in a building which originally was a custom house and a ferry terminal and we are thereby, so to speak, born to receive new flavours, smells and impressions from around the world, just as we over the years have been taking people on a journey.

Alan Bates is the new Head Chef at STUDIO

We are both happy and proud to welcome Alan Bates as the new Head Chef at STUDIO at The Standard.

Food

At STUDIO, we aim to create unique food experiences, you will hopefully never forget. The food is modern Scandinavian and the menus are driven by the local produce of the season; however, our kitchen is not limited by certain dogmas, and we gladly let ourselves enrich by new techniques and inspirations from all sorts of tastes and cuisines.

Alan Bates

For Head Chef, Alan Bates, a great meal goes hand in hand with a great atmosphere, as well in the kitchen as among the guests. "I want to cook a certain standard of food, but the most important thing is that the people who work here are happy and that they therefore can't help but let their joy spread to our guests."

You deserve each and every one of them.In May we wagered a star on a carefully hand-picked star of flesh and blood, namely Studio's amazing head chef Alan Bates.
Since May Alan and his team at Studio have been spending all waking hours of the day transforming the Nordic Michelin restaurant Studio into his dream of the perfect dining experience. Out went the Nordic herbs and in came the warmth from kaffir lime, coconut, curry, wasabi, yuzy and ras el hanout. The devilish ambiance has been replaced with Alan's favorite playlist - eighties rock, so you can feel it in your bones - and the constant inspiration from Alan's great icons can be read on every table and in every dish. Because the new Studio draws inspiration from all parts of the world.
Studio - as White Guide recently wrote - is reborn!
Alan has created an exquisite, surprising and incomparable gourmet experience of international standard. We are proud of what the team at Studio has achieved in so few months. And even though Michelin was not convinced in the short run that Studio deserves a star on the wall, we have no doubt!. Studio with Alan Bates is on its way to the best shape ever - We firmly believe in our new Studio star and his team

Først og fremmest et kæmpe stort tillykke til alle vores fantastisk dygtige kollegaer med dagens stjerner. De er så fortjente hver og én.
I maj satsede vi en stjerne på en nøje håndplukket stjerne af kød og blod, nemlig Studios fantastiske køkkenchef Alan Bates.
Alan har siden maj sammen med Studio-teamet brugt alle døgnets vågne timer på at transformere den nordiske Michelinrestaurant Studio til sin drøm om den perfekte spiseoplevelse. Ud røg de nordiske urter og ind kom varmen fra kaffir lime, kokos, karry, wasabi, yuzy og ras el hanout. Den andægtige stemning er skiftet ud med Alans favorit playliste – firserrock, så det kan mærkes - og inspirationen fra Alans store ikoner kan læses på hvert bord og i hver ret. For det nye Studio trækker på inspiration fra alle dele af verden.
Studio er - som White Guide nyligt skrev - genfødt!
Alan har skabt en udsøgt, overraskende og usammenlignelig gourmetoplevelse i topklasse. Vi er pavestolte over, hvad teamet på Studio er lykkedes med på så få måneder. Og selvom Michelin ikke blev overbevist på den korte bane om, at Studio fortjener en stjerne på facaden, så er vi ikke i tvivl!
Studio er med Alan Bates på vej til den bedste form ever, og vi tror fuldt og fast på Studios stjerne og hans team.
